I'm waiting on an Amazon package, a paperback mystery that was on sale. Hopefully they'll drop it off before the storms.
Yesterday afternoon my rheumatologist's office called to bump Monday's appointment up an hour earlier. It was originally supposed to be mid-month but got pushed to earlier in the month because she's going on vacation. I'm not looking forward to this at all. If she's not willing to run more tests and order imaging I'm going to request a copy of my medical records and let her know I'm going to switch to the major university medical center for care instead.
This place is ridiculous. I've been a patient there since late February and still don't know what the secondary form of arthritis is beyond the osteoarthritis, what autoimmune disorder I have and still can't get the gel lubricant injections for my knees. Even with the three months of PT my knees are still so stiff I have difficulty bending them enough so it's awkward pulling on socks and putting on pants or skirts. Still can't climb into the bathtub to take showers so I'm doing the sponge bath thing. She has zero interest in writing out a prescription for a shower transfer bench for me to take to the medical supply store. With no imaging of my ankles I have no clue what's happening there. They're still wobbly and my balance with them is still bad. My shoulders get so stiff sometimes it's awkward pulling tops or dresses over my head when changing clothes but she wants to ignore the arthritis in my shoulders and elbows completely. What use is she? Plus their imaging department used the wrong ICD-10 codes for requesting approval for imaging ordered by the podiatrist so the HMO won't approve the MRIs of my feet and ankles. Nobody up there is willing to fix the problem.
This is the first time I've dealt with this particular North Jersey hospital and it's been awful. Their medical arts centers are poorly run. Total waste of time. This is why I need to go to the major university medical center instead.
