Apparently there are a handful of intersex athletes with female secondary sex characteristics but internal male organs and high testosterone levels out there and the international sports committees aren't sure how to handle the situation.
OTOH, they're also stuck dealing with the transgender athletes issue which is a whole other can of worms and is most definitely unfair to biologically female athletes to make them compete against athletes who are biologically male.
It was oppressively humid yesterday evening. I did minor grocery shopping but put off doing the laundry until the weekend. I don't think it ever went below 80 degrees last night. Absolutely no breeze either. I've switched from wearing capri pants to breezy midi length skirts with comfy slip shorts. The big bone spurs on my arthritic knees look terrible so my days of wearing shorts are over. The skirts are a lot easier when the humidity stays oppressive. The heat advisory has been extended to Saturday evening. Hopefully we'll get rain showers later but I'm not holding my breath on that one. With the moderate drought the trees and shrubs are already dropping a few of their leaves. Last night I dumped a full three gallon bucket of water at the base of one of the shrubs next to the front porch. It's shedding leaves. Very bad.
Sunday is supposed to just be in the mid to upper 80s and Monday is forecast to be less humid even though it's supposed to hit 90. From next Tuesday on it's forecast to just be in the 80s but unfortunately the humidity is supposed to be high with some on and off showers. I wish we would get some days of low humidity with daytime highs in the 80s with overnight lows in the 60s, with an actual steady breeze. We could really use a cool day or two in the 70s with gentle rain falling all day to help with the drought.
