The heat and humidity is relentless. The overnight low only got down to 79 degrees last night. I had to shut up the house again at quarter of seven this morning to keep the worst of the heat out but with the humidity it was very stuffy. It made it up to 97 this afternoon. The scattered dinnertime rain showers completely bypassed us. Somebody with either a meat smoker or barbecue grill that used wood is overdoing it with the wood chips and the burning wood smell stinks up the neighborhood late afternoon into early evening. I hate that the stink delays my ability to open the windows back up as the temperatures outside start to cool off. I did hear and feel that big bang and rumble this morning people reported around New Jersey, NYC and even into Connecticut. It wasn't an earthquake. NASA thinks it was likely a meteor. Some people saw the flash of light in the sky especially in or close to NYC. My sister came by yesterday evening being crabby the whole time she was here, so I didn't get to the supermarket yesterday and went this evening instead. I'm just taking care of stuff around the house and am paying attention to any useful deals that may pop up for the Prime Days sale.
