We had dark clouds earlier with rain in the area that unfortunately bypassed us but it kept the temperature in the 80s instead of the 90s. Tuesday is supposed to be the worst with a temperature of 101 degrees with high humidity. Originally the weather forcast was for a cold front to drop the temps on Thursday and Friday down to the low 80s for a brief respite. Now they're backtracking on that and saying upper 80s instead.

Just some housework today but I plan to go to the laundromat after dinner. Then I need to sort the paperwork for the recycling collection this week. I've pulled up boxes and boxes of paperwork for the household and paperwork from my folks that were stored in the basement and am still sorting through it all. My mom was a self-proclaimed literature grabber who was into reading free pamphlets, brochures, etc. and she kept newspaper clippings on various subjects. There were also magazines as well. So there is plenty for the paper recycling bin. I'm putting everything that either needs filing or shredding in two plastic storage containers. Since my sister who lives up here gave away the household shredder to friends of hers, my other sister bought a replacement shredder from her local Costco and will bring it when she drives up later this month. There are old bank statements, cancelled checks, etc. that need to be torn up to tiny pieces.

Heidi, I had the 6 pm news on and they interrupted a regular news story with the Trump shooting. With all the deep political division and our country dealing with gun violence on the regular people have become numb to shootings at schools, stores, movie theaters, houses of worship and this sort of thing just escalates. I hope it doesn't return to a 1960s type situation where multiple public figures were killed- JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King Jr., etc. We're in turbulent times.
