It's a sun and clouds mix day with temps in the mid 70s. I've been going through some things to set aside stuff which will go for the yard sale this summer. Our friends still haven't picked a date for it yet at this point. It would basically be a driveway sale and their driveway is a lot wider than ours. You have to get a $15 permit and include a rain date.


After dinner I'm going to do the laundry. I'm tired and sore from yesterday's yardwork so I'll mow the lawn tomorrow. I have to get things ready for my sister from VA who is coming up for a short visit next weekend. She has her yearly week-long business conference later this month and needs me to take care of her kitty while she's away. They always have these conferences in scenic areas where there is hiking and nature walks. Her cat has health issues and is on prescription diet cat food. So our kitty will have his buddy back for a visit.

My sisters are still not getting along so that will be interesting. I'm guessing they will simply avoid each other. I've been acting as an intermediary between the two since our mom passed. It's stupid because the three of us are we all have left of our family essentially since both parents were only children. Since neither parent kept in consistent touch with their cousins they all drifted apart and we have second cousins in the area we have no relationship with. I'm in my mid 50s, my sisters are in the early 60s and we're all dealing with health issues. Our oldest sister has been gone 20 years. Her family lives out west and their lives are messy in various ways. Her husband is a worthless idiot. While at this point only the youngest of their offspring is single, the youngest was too sheltered growing up and is having difficulty coping with adulthood. The oldest is married to Mr. Successful Nice Guy and they have kids, but she's emotionally abusive. Only the second child is normal so she has gone her own way and made a good life for herself. Child three has a spouse but they're both immature. It's more drama than us on the east coast can deal with. My sister who lives here is curmudgeonly, totally inflexible. She's too sharp and dismissive of other's thoughts and feelings. My other sister is a bit too opinionated at times but not so crabby. She's also more emotionally sensitive, so it's a bad mix and the sibling feuding is unnecessary and pointless. (sigh)
