We had heavy rain for while yesterday evening. The wind made a large branch snap off the city tree by our front curb and it landed in our driveway apron. I dragged it up the driveway last night and have to cut it up with my hand pruner saw this weekend. The city trees on our street are elms put in 20+ years ago and they've been through a lot. They all lived through that snow'tober Halloween time freaky snow and ice storm we had like a year or two after the city planted them that made a few branches snap off all of them on our street and snapped several branches off our maples.

It had been sunny earlier, but is now overcast. It's in the 80s and the humidity has gone down. I had PT then ran several errands afterwards including a trip to Petco for the cat's Blue Buffalo Wilderness dry cat food. They had cute throw blankets for cats so I got him one for the sofa. He likes to spend part of the night sleeping on a blanket on the sofa and sleeps at my feet the rest of the time. Speaking of cats my youngest niece called me yesterday to tell me one of her cats died. Poor thing had been sickly for quite a while. She is now down to one cat. Her cats were siblings she got as kittens from a farm family in her area 15 years ago.
