I ordered a new peanut feeder for the woodpeckers on Amazon and it should get here tomorrow. This one is a kind where the lid and the u-shaped top wire doesn't have to be completely detached from the feeder in order to fill it. The kind that has to be disassembled, the one they sell at the Home Depot, kept on vanishing between the squirrels pulling it down to the ground yanking off the lid and the raccoons dragging it off to steal the rest of the nuts. The new one from Amazon is the style where the top stays connected and is of a heavier, sturdier weight. I've been having to add peanuts to the seed mix for the regular feeder but that one is too small for the larger woodpeckers to eat from. We get a nice variety of birds and I'd like them to keep coming here.
