I'm glad spring is just around the corner and we're due for milder temps next week. We may get a day or two of 60 degrees. Got to make more phone calls in a while, see if I can finally connect with an area rheumatologist who takes my HMO. The problem is many doctors are being swept up into these big medical organizations with offices here and there, but with some the specialists are only in certain areas or counties and not others. These organizations are constantly enlarging themselves by buying up smaller medical groups. They're also limiting which HMO plans they will take. Here in NJ it's the private organizations Summit Medical Group and Optum Health taking over everywhere. Fortunately my primary care doc has himself affiliated with a local hospital and their care network. All the doctors here are affiliated with something now. None are independent anymore. I was trying to get hold of a local rheumatologist yesterday who is affiliated with some geriatric care group I never heard of before, but the operators weren't answering the phone.
I didn't get to the supermarket yesterday, definitely need to go today after dealing with the phone.
