Speaking of which, my mom is doing okay, but I'm having problems with her roommate's daughter and son-in-law being control freaks who are trying to create punitive 'rules' for my mom to abide by like not being allowed to have her TV on at night and the lights needing to all be off in the room at 9 pm, which is just crazy. My mom doesn't even get her last asthma inhaler treatment of the day until around then. I was there last night watching TV with my mom, waiting for them to leave so the nurse could help my mom get ready for bed and they're insisting we're supposed to sit in the dark with just the light of my mom's tv set because they turn all the room lights off when they leave apparently including the overhead light at the room's entrance. Eerything with them is a long time-consuming drama and everything and everyone must be micromanaged. They were getting rather nasty and demanding last night, trying to push their weight around because they can see my mom is not going to speak up against their pushiness. I spoke to one of the head nurses on the phone earlier today, so they'll have to read them the riot act. The roommate's family doesn't visit every night thankfully, but when they do show up I'll have to stay late until after they leave to keep them from pulling any antics. The roommate is a bit pushy herself and sometimes makes nasty quips. She's probably not too thrilled with me because she started info dumping sad childhood stories of hers on my mom for some crazy reason, making my mom extremely uncomfortable and I discussed this problem with one of the nurses to get it to stop.
I'm heading back there in a while. Thankfully the roommate's relatives seem to be living some place not close by at the moment. A summer house down at the Jersey shore I think?? So they cut down on the frequency of their visits due to the longer drive.
