Our garbage gets picked up before dawn from a carting company who has a contract with out municipal government and has a set schedule for pick-ups in each neighborhood. I rarely get out to fetch the pails before the parents drop off their kids at the school. The yard waste and recycling are picked up by the town DPW trucks and there isn't a set schedule map. Sometimes they pick up in our neighborhood in the morning and other times in the middle of the afternoon. I don't 'police' the pails and recycling containers all day, so I don't always know if someone has dumped something into the pails or containers right away. Last week someone put a garbage bag next to the yard waste pail at the curb, not in it. Garbage gets picked up the following day. Pre-Covid I had someone dump a bunch of construction debris at our curb once and I called the police since that's illegal dumping. They had a DPW truck haul it away.
