If you have irises growing in your yard, do you have blooming flowers every single year?

We've had the irises for more than a dozen years, but while the leaves are big and healthy again this year, there were no flowers. This happened 5-6 years ago too. Most years we get big lovely blooms, but then a year hits with nary a flower.
