Your in the bobwhite's last stand! I like sit horse and watch the dogs run in that country. I like in KC, here in Missouri and eastern Kansas we let the USDA fescue in the fifties, destroyed the lespedeza pastures and prairie grass, and Earl Butz fencerow to fencerow farming policy wreck our quail. From 4,000,000 harvested in the 60's to 200,000+ now. We are now haphazardly making a start to recover. We can run dogs, but we better supply birds! otherwise meadowlarks or sparrows, meadowlarks are all that plentiful either!

How's your bypass doing? I now have 7 stents, 3 in the last 14 months. Doc told me they've run out of places for Stents, so next time its another bypass. I. Told them we'd go for it, cause I'm not going to quit. Harry B is my hero, 89 and still trialing. Thank the lord I still have some good young dogs, including at least one that can go 3 without turning a hair. Hell I can't go 3 anymore, but I'm going to Oklahoma this fall and hunt till I drop. I just hope they have some birds.

Pete, I live just north of northwest Oklahoma where the birds are normal. We have lots of birds calling and have sincr April.
