I always knew you were a setter man at heart, Harry.
If Bandit hadn't jumped that deer, I probably would have been. He was Heather's Star Bandit by Flaming Star X an old pie Ohio bitch, Macintyre's Blue Heather. He was breaking himself and just starting to run. I think he's have been a good one; he was a good sized dog with plenty of style. Gene Uhlman felt sorry for my loss and so he sold me Countercharge (RU Reg. 2 ASD Champion to Strawberry Fly with well over 100 placements) for $500.00 if I'd leave the dog with him when he turned pro. (He later sold me Counterdrive (RU National Pheasant SD Champion to GR Wil) with some 75 wins. Then Stanly White sold me multiple champion Foxfire's Rhea (through George Tracy) and the rest is history.
And thus I became a pointer man! I mean who wouldn't? Two big male pointers with almost 200 wins between them, both RU Champions and Rhea with seven championships and 35 or 40 wins! Harry
