Well, I started subscribing to the field in, I think, 1959, so I was there, in spirit at least.
I always knew you were a setter man at heart, Harry. Yeah, luck has ruled my life as well, both good and bad. Lost the last really good dog I have had to a fast truck, tho I'd say that was my stupidity more than bad luck.
Yeah, I was so devastated by that Setter's death (he too was killed by a fast truck but it was the trainer's fault not mine.) that I swore that I'd never have another one so when Gene Uhlman offered me his winning Pointer Countercharge at a bargain price when he turned pro, I jumped at the chance and the rest is history. (That all happened over 50 years ago so it's ancient history)
