Re: Sugarknoll Warpaint
The first time I heard that "any old dog"expression it finished up as "except a lost sob". Judges don't always get it right. The human element is often in play.
Yeah, I'm sure you beat him or her too, haha.
Thinking about it, I think GR Will won. Uhlman didn't ride and he asked me how Will did. Andy Zoll was standing right there and so I asked him "How many times was Will brought in from behind" and he answered , "Oh, I dunno, about a million!" Slight exaggeration, it was only maybe a dozen. I had counted him out and thought Drive had won but I guess those judges were overpowered by the name Grouse Ridge even tho Doc wasn't handling him. I can't remember the handler but Donna Yambo was scouting him and the way the course was, she had to bring the dog up through the gallery every time so there was no "sneaking him to the front" as I have done many times!. Made no difference to those judges, they must have been Setter men! Will would go out and hook to one side or the other and end up behind. If I had been handling him I would have picked him up after 6 or so of those. Just goes to prove the old adage, "You can win with any kind of dog except one you pick up!" Harry
