I think about my dogs that have passed all the time.
There are a lot of them that I don't think of much. I think of my first bird dog, a grdau of Gunsmoke and Elhew Jungle. And my first setter, Heather's Star Bandit a son of Flaming Star x McIntyre's Blue Heather. And of course Foxfire's Rhea (a half dozen championships), and the father and son combo of Counterdrive and Countercharge with almost 200 wins between them (Charge had 115 and Drive somewhere around 75. Another son Counterstrike had maybe 30 or 35 so the three of them had well over 200!). That was back in the day when there were only a few championships but a half hour trial every weekend. Charge was a prodigy - he was RU in the Reg. 2 as a fall derby. Nitchman's Strawberry Fly won it. Drive was RU in the Nat. Amtr, Pheasant SD Ch in the mid-late '60s. I can't remember who won it but I'm pretty sure we beat him! :-)
