Infectious disease control often involves quarantines and necessarily so. Reminds me that the trials in Canada that depend upon entries from the US are vulnerable to folks being unable to attend. Not sure if it ever happened in the past but certainly a risk.
I have a friend who was turned away at the border last summer due to horse papers that would have expired while they were up in Canada. Canadian border agent stamped them as rejected even though the horses could have been recertified by a vet in Canada which is what you have to do if you stay too long as you know.
Due to the wait to get new papers he would miss the trials at Mortlach so went home. His drive to the border was a waste and disappointment and no doubt some could be turned away this year due to to this new issue.
Thanks for the heads up and public service for everyone.
I think it may be easier to get a truck load of illegal Hondurans into the US than a personal horse into Canada!
