Re: We have to make it fun and enjoyable
When I started 1000 years ago, nobody spoke to me at my first trial except the pro I had a dog with. After I kept showing up, some of his other customers started speaking to me. Fun and enjoyable? Yeah, I placed in the first trial I entered. That made it fun! And enjoyable. After 50 years, I have dozens of friends. I was in Colorado while my wife was attending a workshop and I went to a field trial. Saw a "field trial" sign and went off the highway. First trial I'd been to in a long time where I didn't know anyone. So I introduced myself, said I had dogs with George Tracy and that was my ticket to ride. Saw a B/W pointer that I liked, tried to buy it. No sale but I had lots of new friends after that. Good times! And no, the guy who owned the dog wouldn't sell him! :-( I think my wife slipped him a fifty and told him, "Do NOT sell that dog to my husband!"
