a couple of months ago one of my horses didn't come in to feed (my grandsons were feeding and couldn't remember when they last saw her) so upon checking I found her at the far fence line with her left front leg hung up over top of a 4.5 ft page wire fence. After cutting her loose she appeared to favor her right front leg/foot. She has been xrayed, nerve blocked, and currently has a set of special shoes that are to support her frog/sole area. Unfortunately she is seriously limping. The veterinary hosp do not seem to know if she will eventually get over this or do I now have an expensive amount of Belgium fodder!
My farrier believes it is a Stress founder due to her standing on her front right leg while her left leg was hung up over the fence. We do not know how many days she was there so it is conceivable she was there for 2 or 3 days at -25C.
Any one ever have something like this and if so what do you think my chances of eventually getting a sound horse? Or do you have some magic I could try?
