The guys over there focus more on killing birds. A different class of folks from the average field trailer here. Over here our primary focus is the dog. I gotta admit, when I was a kid, I sure wanted to shoot some birds, no matter what the pointing style. I did like a dog that could really stay with it, and many of them could. Of course, the dogs today ain't exactly slouches when it comes to staying with it, either. One thing puzzles me, in all the gun dog mags, etc. there are lots of articles about some damn continental breed nobody ever heard of, but very few about English pointers and English setters. Guess they don't make for very interesting reading or don't have sex appeal, or whatever. I run setters and have all my life. Never felt handicapped in any venue.
