Did your birth ever get registered? My mom was born on a farm also and when she was applying for social security she had to get a birth certificate. Since births weren't recorded in Oklahoma until 1916, she was born in 1915, she had to get an older brother to write a letter saying he remembered her being born on a certain date in a certain year, etc. She also changed her name on it. Her birth name was Magdalene and she had Margaret listed as her name. Go figure.
