I did report the creature who tried to scam me to the dating site but never heard anything back from them. His profile is still up and still says "Taken" which he told me meant he was taken by me...RIGHT! NOT!!
I deleted my old profile and created a new one with a different username and email. I know he can still find me by searching age, city, state etc because I do not lie. Everything in my profile is the truth. I do want to take a new picture for the new profile. I will do that as soon as I have my hair curled and makeup on.
I have learned so much since this happened to me. I now know most things to be on guard for in responses. No engineers or guys saying they are retiring as soon as they finish one more job. Guys who start out calling me "Dear" in the first contact will be deleted.
Most scammers used the endearment "Dear" often. They also use other terms of endearment rather than using the womans name. That way they can copy, paste and send the same email to dozens of different woman and not have to type it out each time.
I checked out eHarmony but found out it is a paid site and I cannot afford to pay. Also, I don't feel I should have to pay for a man!
My profile makes it clear that I am only interested in meeting men who live in my city or within 30 miles of my city. I do not want a long distance relationship.
This last guy said he lived in my city not too far from where I live. We never gave each other our exact home addresses, (Thank goodness) but he did say his condo was on a street that I know is in SLC. Of course, he could have found that street by doing a Google search for streets near downtown SLC...
