My first serious relationship was at 17 --when for about 8 months I thought I was madly in love--with a 28 yr old man. Of course my grandparents who raised me had a fit when they found out his age ! They were right of course. He soon got bored with me--too young too imature. He lived in another town & was introduced to me by a girl friend who was dateing his friend. He never treated me badly that I could put my fingr on-- but I think he saw other girls behind my back. He finally broke up with me--said I was too clingy. Too much age difference there--but later in life--many yrs later I did marry a man 20 yrs older than me--but by then I was much older. I think the age gap makes a lot of difference if you are very young or if you are older & more mature. Then it does not seem to matter much.
