A fond memory I have of my mom, shortly before she died is taking her to do grocery shopping. She was dying of cancer but refused to let me shop for her. She'd have her list propped up by her purse in the basket child seat. She was only 53" tall and could just see above the basket handle. After, we'd go to K-Mart where my brother would go in to get a get a few things for himself. Mom would be in the backseat and I'd have my knitting. I'd park in a shady spot and we'd talk while brother was inside the store. It was very pleasant, I'd ask her questions and listen as I'd knit. I miss that because we were both enjoying that time.
