Ihave been back in Iowa almost 11 yrs now. I lived in Bakersfield about 20 yrs & watched things get worse & worse. I would not want to live there now. Yes there was the darn smog. When I first moved there we could esily see the mountains most every day by the time I left we could almost never see them & they are close--a few hours drive from Bakersfield. Smog got so much worse. Town was getting so large --so much crime & so much gang activity by the time I moved back to Iowa. I stayed a yr after my husband died --then I came home to Iowa,
