My all-time favorite is Perry Mason. I've read most of the books and have seen the TV show over and over. He is a defense attorney but won't take a case unless he feels the person is innocent and he always proves that person's innocence. He's used, to this day, as referring to "A Perry Mason moment". The characters he surrounds himself with, Della Street and Paul Drake help him achieve setting his clients free. My kind of hero.
