My very first job was babysitting when I was a young teenager. I babysat on a weekly basis for a lady who was a neighbor. I would go there every day after school for a few hours. It was a good job for a teenager until she moved and "forgot" to pay me for the last week I had watched her children. I learned young that you cannot always trust everyone.

After I had been married the first time and was in the process of divorce, I got my job as a motel maid at Motel 6. My Mama worked there too at the time. It was fun to work together. Later we both worked at the same restaurant as waitresses. So..I was a waitress and a motel maid in my early adult years. Then I worked inbound customer service in several different call centers for the rest of my working career.

I love doing telephone customer service. I was NOT a telemarketer! I answered incoming calls and helped people with their accounts. My last job at Marriott Hotels International was my favorite and I would go back in a heartbeat if I was able to. My manager told me back in 2007 that I was welcome to come back anytime once I was feeling better.

I know that was a long time ago, but I haven't forgotten and I have thought about checking into working their part-time shift which is 3pm-7pm Monday through Friday with weekends off. I would not want to work over 4 hours a day. I would want to go back to the Guest Services department where I worked before. It's been almost 9 years but I still remember what I did at my job.

Now that I think about it, I believe Marriott also has some work at home positions but as far as I know, they are all for taking reservations for their hotel rooms, suites etc. I'm almost sure that job would not pay as much as I made working in Guest Services. Of course, there isn't as much responsibility in reservations.

I may check into both jobs as soon as I get my driver's license renewed. I don't remember if I have told you all about the situation I have been going through since April 4th trying to get my driver's license renewed. I tell more about that in another post. This one is long enough!
