I guess all my life I have had pets. As a child I usually had a cat sometimes two. Once I had a pet Banty Rooster for a couple of yhrs. Kept him on a long cord on one leg in the yard. He loved me--he hated my granny (who I lived with). He would attack her if she got anywheres near him ! As a grown up & married we had cats dog or both as soon as we lived where they were allowed. I now have an older kitty who I got soon after I moved from Ca back to my home state Iowa; Got her from an add in the paper --she was an adult. Shes getting quite old now. I think pets add a lot to our life
