Did you experience a flood --a tornado--a fire--a crime scene---or a personal bad time ?? I feel my divorce after 4 children & 17 yrs of marriage was a big turning point in my life. I had to re-learn a way to live--how to manage money & do many things on my own. We had a friendly mutual decision divorce but we still cared for each other & it was difficult for both of us. Sometimes you just reach a point where you have burned too many bridges--hurt each other too many times & it becomes time to let go.

The other big scary thing I guess was when I took a 7 yr old child & a few clothes & jumped on a Grayhound bus--moved thousandsa of miles from home--from a small Iowa town to a big Ca town--where I knew only one person. A man who later just walked off & left us there on our own--bad times--BUT finally led to meeting my last husband who was a great person.
