I think it works better if we don't look at the BIG picture of ALL that needs to be done. Just start with a few things and take it from there. That is what I plan to do. Usually, once I get myself off the couch and actually get started, I will do much more than I planned to as I enjoy what I am doing and seeing the outcome of what I have accomplished for that day.
