The Washington Post ran a piece that you probably would never expect them to write, much less to be written by the WaPo's editorial board: a defense of President Donald Trump's ballroom. I bet that really galled them to write that.

Privately, many alumni of the Biden and Obama White Houses acknowledge the long-overdue need for an event space like what Trump is creating. It is absurd that tents need to be erected on the South Lawn for state dinners, and VIPs are forced to use porta-potties. They just cant fathom that Trump is carrying on with this project. Same project under Obama and these leftists are drooling all over themselves and heaping praise on Barry.

The State Dining Room seats 140. The East Room seats about 200. Trump says the ballroom at the center of his 90,000-square-foot addition will accommodate 999 guests. The next Democrat president will be happy to have this and will use the hell out of it

In the end it was simply Trump, being Trump, seeing a need, and trying to fix it. Only the sad Democrats could flip out over something that makes so much sense.

If the drug boats were carrying Ivermectin instead of cocaine, the Democrats would have no problem blowing them up.

Eventually a Democrat slime will get back in the White House. I hope Swallowell and the minions boycott the Trump ballroom and bring back the tents for their State Dinners. That will really show MAGA.

Funny you should bring up Obama -- there is a Senator (don't know who he is) who was asked during an interview if the next Democratic President should tear down Trump's oversized tacky ballroom.

His answer was priceless and would be the worst news ever for Trump.

He suggested that the next Dem President should simply rename it "The Barack Obama Ballroom"

I love it.

Just to be clear, Bob... what I love is renaming it after Obama. It's going to built whether I like the idea of it are not, lol. It's just another sign he is not interested in helping the average American. I'm sure his billionaire donors to this ballroom won't expect anything in return.

Of course, Trump truly believes he is going to run and win a 3rd term in 2028... the Constitution be damned in his mind.

I know what you meant. I was just using a trick I learned from the politicians - paraphrasing in such a way that what was actually said is a lie.

I hear ya.. that's why it's always good to clarify. I'm not necessarily opposed to the addition of an event space, but this seems pretty over the top, even for Trump.

The new structure is going to be 90,000 square feet, dwarfing the main White House building at 55,000 square feet. Trump stated before the project began that the East Wing would remain untouched. He lied and just torn it down.

I do not care one way or the other if he builds a ballroom..I think this one is over the top and gaudy and it would be nicer if it were classy but not over the top

$300 million is a lot of big money donors and I am sure there will be favors to return...

Trump does not plan on ever leaving the White House and is working on "fixing it so good" that you will never have to vote again" as he promised during his campaign...
