Sorry to interrupt your church service of Trump Worship and how the Mighty Donald can do no wrong.
But the Cardinals just swept a series and with any luck the Astros are about to take two from the Cubs, if they can hold them off for two innings.
Busch Stadium looked eerily empty when watching the game on TV during that four game stint with the Cubs.
But I can't blame Cardinal fans. For years, they have capitalized off the 'Best Fans' basically beating the drum of 'if you're loyal, you'll pay the price to come to Busch stadium, drink warm expensive beer and eat mediocre over priced food.'
I mean Trump capitalizes off inner a$$holery that we can conveniently and anonymously mark at the ballot box. Some would rather let out their inner ugly and see what happens, than love their country. It's good for Trump, you boosted his ego. What it does for you, I guess you didn't care.
But the Cardinals tried to do the opposite and that's where it burns even worse than America's great stupid attack in electing Trump.
The Cardinals tried to capitalize off our lower Midwestern and middle southern wholesomeness. "These are the classiest fans, who will spend money come win or lose."
I think the Cardinal fans just got tired of getting played. In my view, it wasn't the choice of the players, or the deals that weren't made.
Further, I feel bad for Oli Marmol. Oli isn't such a bad manager.
But I think the defining moment was the firing of Mike Shildt. Mike was the embodiment of the Cardinal way and bled Cardinal Red and the players played their hearts out for him.
To see a corporate shill like Mozeliak get on there and say "Well because of Philosophical Differences, we have parted ways with Mike Shildt." That was after they were on a tear with a generational winning streak. Mike was an effective manager, but didn't bow to the Almighty Mo apparently and wasn't willing to walk the corporate line. It was the biggest betrayal of the Cardinal Way, whatever the hell that was, fans showed in great numbers that they had 'philosophical differences' with how they spent their money and they have diverted it away from Cardinal Baseball.
Cardinal Fans have shown they are the most loyal fans, but they won't be played and won't have their classiness exploited.
Instead, they would rather have their inner ugliness exploited and vote for Trump.
OK, folks, back to Trump's boots you go.
So whether you want to talk about the Cardinals, or defend your Messiah, we're here for you.
Mic ---- See you real soon.
Key ---- Y? Because we love you...

Don't you think the heat had something to do with the low attendance? If you don't read the papers, you're uninformed. If you read the papers, you're misinformed. - Mark Twain
Ok, let's go with that. How about the attendance being down last season and most of this season? That is a lot of heat.Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.
The attendance may be low when they're losing, but I bet it was even lower due to the heat. Also the price of everything (speaking for myself) has to play into it I would think. If you don't read the papers, you're uninformed. If you read the papers, you're misinformed. - Mark Twain
Not a fan of the Cubs at all, though I do like them more than I do the Cardinals. Chicago also has a lot of crime, and two MLB teams, and neither of them has won a lot over the years.
These self-described best fans in baseball, whom the Cardinal fans like to call themselves, are delusional. St. Louis has run two NFL teams, a baseball team, and an ABA team out of town, and damn near lost the Blues several times. St.Louis, at best, is an average sports town. Maybe they can keep the soccer team for a while.

I went to the game yesterday with some friends from Atlanta. Despite decent weather and a nice giveaway the crowd looked to be in the low twenties which isnt exactly great. Many Braves fans were in attendance also. Two of these self described greatest fans in baseball were bitching about the DH and both said the players were against it which of course is not the case. I listened to them as they sat behind me blabbing like idiots like the best fans in baseball tend to do. Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.
