I agree that more needs to be done to teach children to read. The highest score of proficiency across all states was 40% in Massachusetts

The problem with testing is often how students are included or excluded in the testing. Some districts include children with learning disabilities and others do not.

I believe more parents should encourage reading and trips to the library and less time in front of the I-phone, computer and TV.

Many younger parents do not read to and with their children as was once a common practice..
