I'm all for MAGA. One of the things that MAGA said was that the US once again has freedom of speech. I especially like that. One of the things I heard years ago was "I may disagree with what you say, but I'll defend with my life your right to say it". But now people are saying that Rachel Maddow (sp) should be fired for what she said about the 13 yr.old cancer survivor who was made an honorary CIA agent. I don't like that. It's not my idea of freedom of speech.

I agree with you Bob , everyone should have freedom of speech. I also feel the whacko things they say only solidifies how insane they can be . Mrs. O. still sticks to her democrat roots for the most part. Her mom and dad were heavily involved with the local democrats back in the Kennedy era.

After seeing the mess Tuesday night and follow up conversations like, "Trump used this kid", her democrat friends on Facebook blasted those people.

I told her, this is what I've been trying to tell you. Even her dad would have been embarrassed by Tuesday and by the We Shall Overcome bullshit yesterday.

So, Dementia Joe brings the parents of hostages into the joint session, and he's applauded. Trump brings in one of the freed hostages and he's using them.

They've lost their minds. They've lost credibility. They've lost Madison County and now they've lost Granite City. My late FIL would be rolling in his grave except he was cremated.

Mrs. O and I agreed long ago not to share with each other our votes once we hit the booth. I'm sure she probably sat this one out because she didn't like Kamala but would never accept Trump.

I hope the democrats bring signs to the nest joint session and sing, We Got Overrun". I wish the mid-terms were next week so they wouldn't have time to recover from this week.

Oh, and the Senator who gave the response to Trump the other night may want to wear a turtleneck next time. My God honey, you have more necks and chins than my whole golf squad. She fits right in with the purple haired albatross and the Shar Pei look alike Maxine Waters. Seems like the women in the left party were the last to be asked to the dance.

Roots, I know a lot of democrats don't want to hear this but it's exactly why so many people my age have walked away. The party has allowed the far-left members like Bernie and the Squad as well as those who have gotten rich like Nancy and Chuck.

The folks on the Right on this board are just having a field day bashing anything and everything about the Democrat party. Here's my take on it.

I stand by my values, my priorities, my belief in checks and balances, a government that is for everyone, not just the very rich. For every "hateful" thing Dems have ever said or done I could and have pointed to hateful and down right stupid things Trump has said on a daily basis.

The true tragedy is that the sensible, practical, fiscally responsible Republicans are a dying breed because they've all gotten in line to kiss the ring.

I know you all are enjoying this almost unfettered control that Trump has, but some of it is going to hit home before long.

On the one hand I hope Trump and Musk "keep it up" because the more he "rules" the more people are seeing the destruction he is causing.

Realistically though,in the best interest of America, I hope the courts and maybe even some on his own cabinet slow down or stop some of this chaos. Rubio and Duffy are now complaining loudly that some of their talented and valuable are being fired.

As far as "They just don’t seem to care what Americans voted for" --some American's not all, yes, the majority of voters chose Trump, not a landslide or mandate by popular vote. I think all voters want the best for our country, we just have different ideas on how to get there.

Trump told Elon to slow down and consult with cabinet members before wielding any more axes. It was covered in one of the oval office pressers. Of course, it was on FOX so I doubt liberals saw it.

As for the boys competing with women, I hope they maintain that stance because 79% of Americans don't believe in it. Could be the border issue of the mid-terms.

Yes we have . Finding things we haven’t seen in years ! My kids , my sisters kids all grew up coming down to grandma and grandpa’s. The youngest kid is now 28 and we are finding toys ! Beginning to think my mom has parted with NOTHING! Lol

GCAI - do you believe it's the President banning the Associated Press from White House press conferences, Air Force One, and other White House events is appropriate?

The reason: the AP is continuing to call the Gulf of Mexico just that, instead of Trump's new name, the Gulf of America. Isn't that a violation of free speech. The AP is an international press organization and Trump's new designation holds no bearing outside of the U.S.

Ok, so the Trump administration pulled the White House press credentials for AP, so what. How is that any different than the previous administration allowing the press in the room but only taking questions from the same left slanted journalist, while completely ignoring those that may ask a controversial questions? Hell to ensure Brandon didn’t screw up they made sure the demented one had pics and cheatsheet notes of the only journalist they wanted him to take questions. Yeah same ole hypocrisy.

There is nothing hypocritical about my point here.

The reason the AP was banned from White House press conferences and other events is because they continue to call the Gulf of Mexico by it's historical name instead of "obeying" Trump's declaration that it's now the Gulf of America. Trump didn't like it, despite the fact that the AP is an international organization and Trump cannot force other countries to call it by his chosen name. To retaliate, they were banned. I can still call it the Gulf of Mexico if I choose to.

This has nothing to do with who gets called on and who doesn't.

Now that you mention it, remember that time Reuters got a shot of Trump’s cue cards, the ones he was using for his impeachment trial? Oh yes. They read:

“I WANT NOTHING. I WANT NOTHING. NO QUID PRO QUO. TELL ZELLINSKY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS IS THE FINAL WORD FROM THE PRES. OF THE US.”

And then there was the time he used cue cards to remind him to listen to shooting survivors.

Nothing wrong with being prepared, I guess.

IMO there is a significant difference in having speaking notes or having queue cards with specific instructions, predefined responses and Journalist names with pics of who to specifically call on. Hell they even had to give the demented one damn directions on how to exit the stages and he still managed to fall flat on his ass. The difference, Trump could put two sentences together and used his note cards as thought reminders, whereas Brandon used his as a damn babysitter. Never let the puppet run off script.
