When his term was up, Harry Truman loaded up his car and his wife and drove himself back to Missouri to the same older house he had before. Nixon just disappeared. So did Johnson, going back to his ranch and keeping his Hoosier ass quiet. Ford? Never heard a peep from him after he left office, perhaps the dumbest GOP president ever. Reagan? Back to the ranch and quietly staying out of Bush's way. Bush? Back to Texas and remained quiet. Bush 43? Has anyone heard much from him in the last 16 years? No, you have not.
But most Democrats? Not only will their ex-presidents never officially leave Washington, but they won't shut up and stop chiming in. Worse, neither will their unelected wives, who for some reason are even more insufferable and even more stupid. It's rich being lectured by "strong feminist women" who are where they are only because they latched onto a promising XY chromosome to get ahead in life.
Jill Biden, Mooch, Hitlery, Kamala- not one of them is an independent woman of accomplishment. They are like cars drafting behind semi trucks that, once they're past the pass's summit, want to cut in front and lead the parade honking their horns the entire time.
But they have become experts at smugly telling the so called working man what's best for him and his family- what he should drive, heat, and cook with, where he should live, and how much income he should be allowed to keep. It's sick, its twisted and it is pathetic, but they have the MSM carrying their water, so for that reason alone it still plays.

Even Mr. Peanut who looks like a damn mummy has somehow been in the news in recent months, mumbling incoherently how he wants to vote for Kamala. I can see the Democrats now claiming Carter is running rings around everyone and nobody can keep up with him.

Maybe these former politicians you hate so much still care what happens to America. They have no official "power", but they are still actively engaged in what they believe in. Not accomplished? How about comparing your own accomplishments to any of those women? They are obviously not stupid... you are merely mimicking your Cult Leader's moronic statements that simply are not true. He has said repeatedly that Kamala Harris is "very low IQ" - I wonder how it measures up to his diehard MAGA base.

By the way, Springsteen is 75 years old and still selling out arenas with his 2024 tour.

It's an unwritten rule that once your presidency is over, you need to ride off into the sunset. Of course ego maniacs like Obama and to a lesser extent Bill Clinton can't do that.

Springsteen should have enough dignity and self respect to limit his singing to old folk's homes and maybe psych wards. Phil Collins had to be dragged off the stage, and he was ten times the talent that Springsteen ever was, so I get it that it's not easy to walk away. Anybody spending more than 20 dollars to see this shriveled-up leftist tool (Springsteen) should have their head examined.

You are only bitter because the people you mention are well respected and still have a lot of political influence.

Just because you have questionable music taste doesn't mean most people do... I had to look it up but Collins is still performing...small theatres and performing arts centers. Just a small step up from the nursing homes you mention.

Just a side note.. Collins is not a U.S. citizen.

You see some of the old groups come back and try to cash in, Loverboy, and The Little River Band come to mind. Sometimes they sound ok but are never anything close to what they once were. Springsteen you would think has enough money that he wouldn't have to embarrass himself like this. I cant stand him, but I found myself feeling sorry for him.

Real real small theatres maybe with 15 people watching him perform in his wheelchair like he did in his very last concert many months ago. Phil was an amazing talent, it's sad how his health has deteriorated. He is done.

I don't mind listening to the old has-beens at homecomings, and similar settings, everyone likes to reminisce I suppose. Bruce has zero political influence and Beyonce about the same. If you have to drag out stars and past stars to rally a candidate that screams desperation to me, no matter who does it.

The political influence was speaking of was former Presidents, First Ladies, not Springfield and Beyonce.

The celebs can and sometimes do have significant influence on voters. This is an election.

Springsteen is not a has been. His start in music was well before my time, but his longevity and long term success is undeniable.

Maybe not official but there is no doubt that the party still comes to attention when Obama pushes an agenda. He is now, and will be long after Kamala is gone, the most powerful democrat since JFK.

During her efforts to push Kamala yesterday, she sounded more like Reverend Al pushing a civil rights platform based on abortion. I can't stand the woman, but had she been the one to step in for Joe, this race would be over. More articulate, smarter and is taken much more seriously than Kamala. I was very much relieved when she wasn't put up.

Obama is still important to the party because he is the last successful democrat. Very clearly his influence is what put Joe on the shelf.

As for Clinton, you have to remember he left office in disgrace. He took advantage of Lewinsky and then lied about their relationship, as he did with other women and Hillary supported it.

It amazes me that women now talk about Trumps sexual deviance when JFK and Clinton were womanizers while in the WH.

Barack will be popular with the democrats and even some centrist for a long, long time.
