Both CNN and Fox asked an important question last night.
Let's just say, in the worst-case scenario, that Nancy, Chuck and some of the Biden hit squad get Joe to bow out.
In essence, they are admitting that he is no longer fit or capable of running the country. So, if he's not capable from Jan 7, 2025 forward, how is he capable from now until then?
Will the cabinet declare him unable to serve per the 25th amendment? That would move the Giggler into the big chair and she could name a VP. Of course, this takes time, and the DNC is drawing ever closer.
If they do this, they also put a blemish on Joe's otherwise stellar political career. The scenarios are some of the most interesting since Nixon resigned in shame.
Now on the flip side of political history, let's say Trump is elected. He gets four years and he's gone. Will the party unite around Vance? I don't think so. I think Nikki Haley takes another shot at it as well as Rubio or Cruz and maybe even Josh Hawley.
In 28, the dems will be looking at our morbidly obese governor, the nutjob from California or the way left Gretchen Whitmer.
I hope I live long enough to see all this play out.

Who knows how the party will feel about Vance after 4 years, but I like his chances a lot more than Nikki Haleys. Nikki Haley is a county-level talent at best so thanks but no thanks on her. Maybe she can she run as a Democrat which is probably where she belongs. The other names on your list I like, but Hawley probably hasn't got much of a chance, but I wish that wasn't the case. Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.

Opinionated -- you are looking way into the future, lol -- I don't have the time for that right now and so many things can happen between now and then.
I don't think anyone should be too concerned about how the country is going to be run until Jan 2025. If you are a Republican and you hate the way it's run now, you'll still hate it. The President is only one person and I don't think any of the Dems think he is totally incompetent. I think they know his bad moments are too many to potentially win the election.
I don't think it's a slam dunk for Trump to win. His base is strong, but I don't think he's going to add to it significantly, either because of the assassination attempt or because of Bidens issues.
Given the choice we currently have, I think most educated voters are going to vote for the party that represents their values, regardless of who is at the head of the ticket.
I don't think the Dems who are trying to talk Biden into stepping down are attacking him personally, they are looking at polling and want the party to keep the White House. There is a lot at stake here. I still think it's going to be a close race. The Dems need to increase voter awareness of Project 2025, as well as replace Biden.

Just running scenarios.

Soccer, if the game plan is to say that Biden is no longer mentally fit to run things, no way they can justify him being in charge. My guess is he would step down from office as well and cite his health. I still think he's getting the royal screw job by those who empowered him. The Dems need to increase voter awareness of Project 2025, as well as replace Biden.
So much ado about this project 2025. Just more banter by an extremist part of the party. No different than the BLM stance or the Green New Deal from the extreme left.
They can make noise but no way the FDIC is touched. No way is SS drained. It may be adjusted but not drained
Nothing more than "those dems are coming for your guns" propoganda in my view.Promises Made, Promises Kept! Republicans stood, the liberal left wept.

No need to toss them a bone Opie, the Dems are coming for our guns, they are just doing it incrementally. Pritzker has enacted several new gun laws in this wretched state already. Ask the people who own the gun shop in Pontoon Beach what Pritzker has done for their business, or any gun store for that matter.Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.

Vivek made her his Bi*** on the debate stage. Unless Trump hands her another position so she can quit again, she won't be going very far on her own.Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.
