The State of the Union Address to Congress

Constitutional Mandate: The U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 3) stipulates that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.

The tradition of the State of the Union address began with George Washington, who delivered the first address on January 8, 1790, in New York.

The address provides an opportunity for the president to report on the current conditions of the United States and propose policy measures for the upcoming legislative year. It covers a wide range of topics, including the economy, foreign affairs, national security, and domestic issues. And I guess now, potatoe chips.

There's a video floating around on the internet showing him 25 minutes post speech, still inside the house, wondering around and asking where he was supposed to go. Just follow the Sargent at Arms sir, just follow the Sargent at Arms sir. Where am I supposed to go as one of his handlers, a blonde woman keeps waving her hand trying to get his attention. All within one foot of every military general of every military branch of our country. Everyone just tried to act like they weren't seeing it unfold right before their eyes.
