Several kids after getting off the bus whipped up on a special needs kid right in front of my house. The kids have caught the bus there for years and I've seen a few things, but never said anything, but I had to call the school on this one. I heard a kid yell to get him and I thought someone's dog was running loose because that's an everyday thing here. Apparently the one kid was the one getting got. When I went to the door the kids scattered except for the special needs kid who was crying uncontrollably. I'd almost bet that the bus driver had to of seen something. I felt guilty for not jumping up from my computer earlier but I did give the school the information that I knew of. The woman I spoke with seemed concerned and was very nice, so I can't say anything bad about the response I received. Does it get any lower than beating on a special needs kid???Get ready for a big spike in the price of gas. Thanks China Joe.
What really bothers me is it wasn't one kid, but several. If you don't read the papers, you're uninformed. If you read the papers, you're misinformed. - Mark Twain
But at least it was diverse, as both black and white kiddies appeared to have participated along with at least two of the fifty-six genders. Get ready for a big spike in the price of gas. Thanks China Joe.
Granite City wasn't always a nice safe place in the 80's or 90's either.
Yes, people would pick on people with special needs even back then.
It's disturbing -- it's a lot of things, but it happens...and I really hope it is dealt with.
It's too bad when the moral compass isn't set at home - or some kids are always taught 'keep your head down and mouth shut and don't stand out'.
They really don't train all Granite City kids to be Warriors......when they really could stand as a Warrior for something.
But don't worry it's not limited to Granite City either....
Warriors against bullying?
It could work...
But hey, even if Billy was screwing around, we need him eligible by Friday......
Oh well, I digress...
Same ole in Granite City...and darn near just about everywhere else too. When you ban books before you ban guns, you've admitted that you're more afraid of children learning than you are of children dying.
