Coffee group this morning discussed the union involvement in local politics. One member of the group mentioned he saw a couple of political signs that didn't carry a union symbol at the bottom.
I know back in my day, no candidate put up a campaign sign that didn't carry a union logo on it and you certainly wouldn't put out a mailer without that symbol.
Now this particular man is a former teacher, so he probably pays more attention than most.
So, is it a big deal any longer? Do union workers get offended or decide a vote on who uses union printers and who doesn't? Would this influence your vote?
Personally, I'm getting so old that I'm lucky to read the name on the sign let alone look for the union label, but I understand the significance that others place on it.
When you can't golf in the morning, you sit around a table, suck on coffee refills and discuss such important topics. LOLthey did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
I do not think Unions are what they once were...a lot of young people have always worked for Union wages and feel entitled to them. Many do not think the Union helps them and want Unions gone. They seem to think they would have the same benefits without Unions. They do not understand that they have those benefits because of Unions. Also many vote against their own interest...I have not heard anything about signs this last election round, so I do not think it was a issue.
The one Union I was in until I got out of it mostly just stole the member's money and caved like dogs to the company. Several of the higher-ups in my local were caught stealing money from the members and blowing it on trips to the Bahamas and other things. They did virtually nothing for the members. Many of the employees didnt trust the company or the union.Covid fizzled out, unleash the smoke.
Two school board candidates running together (it appears) with no union bug on signs. Care to bet who WON’T get te endorsement by the teacher and janitor unions? they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
