Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s victory speech spurs presidential speculation

When Gov. J.B. Pritzker claimed victory Tuesday night over a vanquished Republican Darren Bailey for a second term as Illinois governor, he also presented himself as a possible 2024 candidate for the White House if President Joe Biden opts not to seek a second term.

In a speech unsparing in its attacks on the GOP with contours that went far beyond Illinois’ parochial borders, the billionaire progressive Democrat and Hyatt Hotel heir called himself a “warrior” ready to take on former Republican President Donald Trump and Trump allies in the years ahead.

“Here we are, two years into cleaning up the wreckage of Donald Trump’s presidency, poised to watch this man announce his return to national politics within days,” Pritzker said.

“You know why? Because GOP politicians, with the exception of only a few souls, are too cowardly, too simpering to support the best interests of the nation because they’re afraid of being called insulting nicknames by a whiny bully,” Pritzker said.

The ballroom stage at the Marriott Marquis in Chicago’s South Loop before hundreds of supporters is not the same as the platform of a Democratic National Convention, as was the case in 2004 in Boston when a youthful Illinois state senator delivered the keynote address that propelled Barack Obama to the presidency four years later. Pritzker’s oratorical skills also lack the dimension of Obama.

Pritzker is a disgrace but he is a disgrace with 3 billion dollars. He will be Newsom's VP on the Democrat ticket sooner or later.

San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City already have gas stove bans.

Remember this when Democrats say they aren't coming after your gas stove.

I can see it now.

Trump once again comes down the escalator of Trump Towers with his stylish wife next to him and announces he's running. (big mistake but that's another topic)

Meanwhile, Pritzker comes down the freight elevator of a Chicago warehouse with is wife carrying a bucket of KFC right behind him as he announces, " what? No biscuits?

JB, you won Illinois because of Cook County. Don't overestimate your value to the rest of the country. DeSantos would wipe the floor with you.

I think JB may make a run at the white house,,,DeSantos will also...could be interesting...from what I see from other states, most people are over the extreme politics...most of those who Trump came out for lost....

Trump will destroy the party if he is the nominee.

I know Biden said today he will be running but he still has to get through the next two years.

The press questioned him today and it was sad to watch.

He once again claimed credit for falling gas prices after saying it's not within control of his office.

He was asked about inflation and answered that they were trying and making progress but it's still not controlled.

Then he bragged about telling a new congressman that he could deliver high speed rail to his district. You're going broke and give away more money?

Two main reasons for me to be happy about last night.

Nancy Pelosi will turn in her gavel and pick up her broomstick. She is also now not in the line of succession.

Stacy Abrams not only lost but got slaughtered.

Both obnoxious women who need to go away.

I'm thinking the Democrats will be canceling Biden's Presidency due to health-related reasons and Harris will take the seal.

The Teacher's Unions will soon be putting out the order to start drilling Fetterman into the heads of the young sheep for 2024.

The left has succeeded in destroying Trump with the death-of-a-thousand-cuts strategy, he is done, but probably doesn't know it. Naive Republicans will soon learn that they will do the same damn thing with DeSantis.
