Whenever we have one of these mass shootings my thoughts after the initial shock is how will the Democrats and the media use these shootings to push their anti-gun agenda and to what lengths will they go to tie the shooting to Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, and or the NRA.
Since Crimos went to a few Trump events in the past the left quickly got out of the gate to try to make him a MAGA supporter, that was the entire focus. The problem is he went to Trump's events to smirk and act out, being Crimos is a hard-core leftist.
Crimos rapper name, "Awake" follows Democrat politicians exclusively and likes dozens of Leftist-Only content. This psycho also has a thing about wearing FBI caps and he is a fan of various former Communist leaders from decades back.
I don't particularly care what his politics are given what he has done, although I am of course happy that they won't be able to pimp this dude out as a Conservative NRA Trump supporter. IMO he should have never made it to jail. Anyone that kills innocent people deserves to be ended, waiting to see who it is first before deciding if we want to put the criminal or the gun on trial is sick and deranged and yet so common. What will happen now is that his leftism will be buried, and the gun he used will become the story because that's about all they will be able to use this go around. China Joe couldn't wait to grandstand on this and I'm sure he got an extra scoop with his ice cream cone today. If they can't make any conservative connection with the shooter real or made up they simply go to guns bad. It's disappointing to them, but they do what they can with it. Never let an opportunity go to waste.

Whack job shooter #3 that either the authorities had previous interactions with, knew about, or discovered some very troubled posts on Faceshit months earlier that no one thought was serious enough to potentially escalate as a potential threat. However those same Faceshit checkers will sure as hell shut your account down if you say anything negative about Brandon or the Democraps! It appears the kid had problems as far back as grade school but once again was obviously ignored and passed onto society with no help. Without the development of advanced Mental Healthcare in this country, these types of horrendous acts are going to continue. Unfortunately we have the GC Ketler Center “Catch, Medicate, and Release” mental healthcare programs in this country.

Dee, I agree. Until this country gets really serious, not just lip service about the mental healthcare in this country, these types of acts will continue. Again, this is the 3rd or 4th suspect (I have literally lost count) where there was a history of physical and mental abnormalities that were completely ignored by their parents, educators, and authorities. You have to ask yourself what conversations would they be having on the MSM today if there would have been a legal conceal carry owner nearby that was able to eliminate the threat before all the carnage? Hero or just another bad citizen gun owner? lol

Maybe one day these shooters will simply be seen as whack jobs and the race will not be on to connect them to a political party or certain individual. Rahm Emanuel knows that will never be the case, however, because gotcha will always be more important than actually trying to solve a problem.

I an in agreement with Dee and Rootsniers on this....we have to find a real way to keep these weapons out of the hands of mental Ill people...as far as his family seeking help for this shooter...I do not know, but I do know families who have tried to find help for members and can not find the needed help...we have got to change some laws effecting mental health....

Millgirl, the problem is, we wait until these sick people act before we isolate them to where they can't act out their evil fantasies.

School shooters usually tip their hands but the people who perform the psych evals do little or nothing to keep these people from acting.

How do you keep a gun out of the hands of a person who shows violent potential? They usually steal their weapons or they are available in the home.

I don't see any possible way to guarantee that we can keep guns away from those who should never have one.

Maybe we can focus on that effort more than trying to paint every mass shooter as Donald Trump or Tucker Carlsons son. This kids family apparently ignored that their son was whacky AF which I understand is probably the easiest thing to do. How many times must we learn after the fact that authorities were aware of a mass shooters tendencies? We have Mark Zuckerberg thought police on FB kicking one side off the platform on every debate, but whackos like this can make threats of violence on social media and nothing. If a conservative off-the-rails loon shoots up a parade I want his ass in a cage. The days of waiting first to see what ethnicity or political party we can tie some crazy to needs to be secondary and not the main focus.

True Opie, there in not a way to guarantee that a mentally person can not get their hands on a gun, but there should be more ways for families to get help with a mentally ill person and more ways to keep them from purchasing guns...this shooter owned five guns..he should have never been allowed to purchase...it may not stop all of these senseless shootings but it would help if we find better ways to screen gun purchasers.....

I personally think you can't take guns away from people. I'm ready to concede that battle.

But $10/bullet tax... I'm all in.

Bullets are addictive like cigarettes, people will stock them up....but those stockpiles will go down eventually.

The money raised will ensure every gun, every bullet is traced.

People will try to make their own....just as people try to roll cigarettes, I suppose, but I would not hesitate.

But I know that's not reality and it would be hard to get that to pass....because some of these jackwagons think that Moses was handed the Second Amendment on Mount Sinai...

But maybe the ease with which Crimo attained that gun....with the help of his father no less....should be looked at. It was clear as a bell that he was not mentally stable.

I didn't check to see if he got it in Illinois...or went up into Wisconsin or Indiana to get the gun, but I did hear that his father was involved in the purchase of this gun.

83 rounds in a short period of time. There is no need for that kind of fire power for any reason.

This is no argument against the guy who has a shotgun and doesn't wait to wait for the sheriff to make it out to his or her home.

That's a totally different scenario and those kinds of guns are designed to kill as many people in as short of time possible.

Unfortunately where your going to get the most bang for your buck with these types of individuals is exactly what has been failing this country for years on multiple fronts and that is the Home, Close Family, and Parental support. In just about every case like this it always comes back to their home life failing them and our country right along side.

With so much local and national news focus on Highland Park's mass shooting...are you aware that in Chicago over the 4th of July there were 77 people shot...16 people killed?

Not to take away from the tragedy and horror of what took place in the North Shore, but where (may I ask) , where is the outrage from elected leaders on this as well? Feel free to jump in front of the cameras for those victims too!

I remember when that same poster claimed to not be an anti-gun. It wasn't true of course, but what are you going to do? Others have talked about taxing bullets before and others have also made it their business to decide how many bullets is enough for someone else to have. I'd be willing to wager many of those same types of people rush out to vote for the most liberal of prosecutors and judges, so crime isn't really what drives them.

Ah, so predictable, when the little worm was found out to not be what they so dreamed he was, (a Trumper) the gun became the blame. It's a political issue, which is why after every mass shooting Democrats race to see who can get to the podium first. They don't even wait until the bodies of the victims are cold before starting up. One of these days a Trump-loving NRA member will go off the deep end and do something like this, it's bound to happen sooner or later. You go on social media on that day and tell me it's not political. Everyone knows damn well it is about as political as an issue can get. Wrong demographics and it's not as easy to grandstand. Stopping people from getting murdered is not the concern and never has been with so many. If the left could take away every gun in the country but as a result double the murder rate, you know damn well they would make that trade. Nothing is more important than the agenda. I'm for prosecuting anyone that commits a violent crime to the fullest extent, I'm sick of these 10-time felons getting out and committing even more criminal acts. We need to make criminals accountable and stop half-assing it. Even nonviolent crime is out of control because the dirtbags have no fear of repercussion.Thats why around here they steal everything that isnt nailed down. I dont care what they do to the criminals when they commit gun violence, just stop targeting people who have never been involved in that kind of thing.
