I wish Elliot would have mentioned how the last administration left a stagnant mess behind along with a host of other problems that needed addressed.
If I have learned anything through the years, one of the most important lessons was to never believe a politician full of campaign promises and that is exactly why I voted for our current mayor.
He promised to listen, be available and to address the major concerns almost every voter shared. What he didn't do was set unrealistic goals and promise the moon. In the video he looks 8 years into the future setting his sights on the city being completely turned around and, on a brand-new course.
That's not saying that in 6 months, or a year or 2 from now things won't be any better, or even far better than they are now. There are already obvious improvements and more on the calendar. This city didn't get into this neglected state in a short amount of time, so it will take some time to turn it around.
We can at least say this mayor didn't waste any time trying to get this city headed in the right direction, and it would have been nice to see Elliot recognize that instead of making promises to keep watch dogging the situation.
The mayor made us all proud the way he represented the city and answered the tough questions.

Why would Elliot mention the mess from the last administration when none of the aldermen or city leader make mention of how incompetent it was? Accountability starts from within.
