So yesterday we were mostly focused on the mayoral election. Most of us knew the outcome the day the candidates filed but it was fun to watch.
We overlooked what was happening in the school board race and I think it's important.
The two non-incumbent candidates won the top two seats while the two incumbents took the bottom two spots, one almost losing her seat to another newcomer.
Does this mean the residents are pleased overall with the handling of the COVID issue and the generous contract?
It may be a little of both. Had the two incumbents took the top two spots I would argue that the voters are pleased. With them winning yet barely beating one newcomer, maybe a message was sent to the contrary.
At any rate, it will be interesting to see a.) where they go from here and b.) what they do with the huge amount of money Uncle Joe and Aunt Nancy are giving schools.
Congratulations to our winners.they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
You might be on to something Opinionated, or maybe the message is that we sort of, kind of like what we think they are doing, but we like the newbies more. We wont toss the old guard out this go around, but we are repositioning them near the exit door as a fair warning.
It is also a distinct possibility that many voters dont know enough to even have an opinion, but they want to be a part of the process anyway.
Either way, a win is a win.All these punks would have a quick change of attitude if the cops just started cracking some skulls.
