This map breaks down the election unlike any other, by precinct to tell the story of the 2020 election.
What does this demonstrate to me?
Besides, 'Granite City, I hardly know thee anymore...'
Similar to what you may have gone through "Welp, looks like everyone I know is going for Trump, I don't see how he can't win it."
You will readily see how this map could corroborate that narrative. But it also shows the margins of how much Trump won or how much Biden won in a single district.
In Granite City, it could be Trump 258 - Biden 212... something like that.
However, those margins make a difference in the final tally. But then over in North City -- it could be a margin of Biden 478 to Trump 46.
Yes, all your friends at coffee and over a beer are going for Trump...so it seems like the whole world is too. Yet, less than three miles away, there's a wholly different dynamic going on.
Anyway enjoy this extremely detailed map... The Extremely detailed map of the 2020 election You won't enjoy it as much as I do, but you can always pull of the 2016 map to relive those glory days as you would like.
But the one suprise in this one is Edwardsville.
But, just because they get one thing right, they'll always be Edwardsville.
Remember when they were just a bunch of old German farmers....? And Granite City was the hub of prosperity?
Oh well, there are other factors in the world besides red and blue and those things alone do not determine the fortunes of a certain precinct.
I was just surprised to see it, though. I always grew up thinking the opposite was true, because at one time, it was. When you ban books before you ban guns, you've admitted that you're more afraid of children learning than you are of children dying.
I'm still amazed that the county has now turned very red. When you see the sweep the GOP made in Madison County in 2020, it's encouraging but then you look at the northern part of the state and realize there will never be a complete change.they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
