The old Kmart building

Does anyone have any information about this old building? I've read that it has been purchased to be used as a warehouse storage type building.

I sure hope not, I was hoping that some kind of business would buy this place and turn it into something a little more community friendly.

The old Save A Lot building was purchased to be used as a warehouse, I hate losing these commercial properties to storage, that seems like such a waste.

I may have my wires crossed, but if my memory serves me correct, I thought the original Save A Lot was near Kirkpatrick homes, near the old Uncle Charlies. That old building is now a warehouse.

At least in the property records, the building still hasn't changed hands, still owned by K-Mart's and paying $57,000 a year in taxes.

I imagine by now, K-Mart owes more in taxes than in actual revenues being generated, by whatever stores may be left. I don't even know where there is an open K-Mart within a day's drive. It's not a dinosaur safari that I would be interested in taking.

I think Sav-a-Lot is located adjacent to GLIK SPORTS in Bellmore Village

Last time I looked at the city counsel minutes said person was turned down twice. Now they could have changed their minds. said person wanted to buy the building for self storage.

I keep hearing that Cohens Foods is buy it and moving their warehousing and offices there. Right now they are in what was the old Kozyaks and in West Granite at the original store.

I heard that old Car Wash behind K-Mart is not included. If that is the case & someone else owns that they need to know, that its on same property as of the K-Mart building & needs to be included. I think that is why no one wants to put anything at the K-Mart building is cause of the old Car Wash.

Also have to remember the Car Wash building is on the K-Mart propriety. I heard someone else owns the old Car Wash behind K-Mart.

Fyi. The cities new economic developer is also the listing agent for the KMart building.

They should look at how Eastgate Plaza has been renovated in East Alton. If they can do it, so can we!
