Illinois media joins national media to black out Biden scandal –

The Biden family’s influence peddling may end up ranking among America’s biggest political scandals, but the blackout on coverage of it is already the media’s biggest. |
If you’ve read beyond the regular media, you know at least the rough outline of what the evidence so far says happened. Joe Biden, at the very minimum, acquiesced in work by his son and brother to sell influence over him. More likely, Biden actively participated in the scheme and stood to profit immensely. The Chinese Communist Party is among those to whom influence was sold. Supporting evidence is strong, including emails, text messages and statements by a former Biden family business partner. The Director of National Intelligence confirmed the authenticity of key, incriminating emails and the FBI concurred. Biden clearly lied in denying that he has ever even spoken with his son about the matter.
In years past that would have been front page news repeatedly, no matter what the media’s view of the presidential candidate or of the incumbent he faced.
But virtually all the mainstream national media have suppressed the story. Only conservative outlets, particularly the New York Post and Fox, have covered it. Censorship by Twitter and Facebook has been particularly brazen. Worse, some of the media, joined by Biden, say the story is a Russian disinformation plot. There is no evidence whatsoever that it is.
What about the Illinois media? Nothing that we have seen. They are part of the blackout. All we have found are several syndicated republications from the New York Times and Associated Press which, for the most part, amount to attempted excuses for dismissing the story.
“We need to need to be more honest in our reporting on Biden,” says a headline in Britain’s Financial Times Wednesday. That’s gross understatement, but the American mainstream press won’t say even that.
Coverage by the few conservative outlets isn’t enough, even when they are not being muted. We know that much of America refuses to listen to sources that don’t accord with their political views, so they are not hearing the facts. The FT quoted Matt Taibbi, who is among the very few liberal reporters who have covered the story: “Fox doesn’t have the reach that this emerging partnership between mass media, law enforcement, and tech platforms does.”
Think what you want about Biden and Trump. It doesn’t matter. There is no excuse for blacking out a major story on either of them. “Suppression is a bigger scandal than the actual story, wrote Taibbi.
He’s right, and the Illinois media are part of it.
