Circuit court rules Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s emergency coronavirus orders are void

CLAY COUNTY, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A judge has ruled in favor of Rep. Darren Bailey, R-Xenia, in his lawsuit against Gov. JB Pritzker regarding whether Pritzker's stay at home order exceeded his authority.

Bailey filed a lawsuit in Clay County Circuit Court on April 23, claiming Pritzker had exceeded his authority and violated the civil rights of Illinoisans by issuing and extending the stay at home order.

Clay County Circuit Court Judge Michael McHaney ruled that the 30 days of Pritzker's emergency powers lapsed on April 8, so any executive orders related to COVID-19 in effect after this date are void.

“Despite the governor’s attempts to move the lawsuit to multiple courtrooms, including a federal court, the rule of law prevailed, and the rights of Illinois citizens were upheld today," Bailey said. “This is a good day for accountability.”

I don't even understand peoples' stupidity on this one.

Wear mask, keep distance....cases go down.

Be a stupid, selfish idiot and not wear mask and not distance ----- cases go up.

These states that decided to 'loosen things up' are now the ones that have to tell their citizenry to stay home and wear masks.

States like Illinois are opening up, because they took the necessary measures.

And yet, there are still people who would complain.

The virus just doesn't care about your feelings....wear a damn mask!
