Opie, i agree with you on at least 87.3% of this. I live in not the greatest area of Pontoon Beach, and near Mallard Park. The commercial grade fireworks that that seem to go on forever before and after July 4 are hard to understand when a lot of those people arent in the best financial situation. Last night it only seemed to last about a half hour which wasnt that bad. |
The gambling, smoking, and drinking seem in some cases just a way to help some people cope. Besides, whenever the money runs out during a particular month the folks can just go to Dollar General and rip off whatever they need.
The residents in the state are pretty stupid on average but statically probably not any worse off than the people living in any other state. I think in a few days they will have what amounts to a sports book at Fairmount Park, but i may have that all bummed up because i want it to be true, you know for a friend.
Indiana ends budget year 2019 with $410M surplus; extra money will fund building projects outside Region. Just a guess is that Illinois doesnt quite meet this number.
