Wow! This is possibly a step in the right direction that unfortunately willl not funnel down directly into Madison County.

The powerful Illinois House speaker is named in a federal subpoena. Our politics team of Paris Schutz, Amanda Vinicky and Carol Marin discuss that and more in this week’s Spotlight Politics.

The FBI has raided homes belonging to the confidants of powerful Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.

The speaker was also secretly recorded by former Chicago Ald. Danny Solis, an FBI mole.

And now an even more direct sign that federal agents are interested in Madigan: His name was on a subpoena served in May to the City Club of Chicago, according to reporting by WBEZ.

(I am not posting a link so a certain party can go look it up before throwing the usual insults)

I think Madigan is untouchable, and if he isnt, the Democrats have dozens just like him waiting in the wings.

That's what I was thinking. It sounds like a lot of ado with no real consequences because in Illinois there are plenty to step right into his shoes...sort of like too little too late.

Don't we have a State's Attorney for that?
Oh I forgot. The last States Attorney was Madigan's stepdaughter and the current State's Attorney,Kwame Raoul, is too busy trying to figure out ways to evade the President's immigration orders.

Hes the Illinois Attorney General. The chances of Raoul doing anything but assisting Madigan is slim and none. Hunter Biden would be more likely to turn on his old man. If they handcuffed Madigan today and drug him to jail kicking and screaming it wouldnt help Illinois situation one bit. Sure, it might make a lot of people happy, but that would be about it.

Surely nobody honestly thinks if Madigan goes away that this state would all of a sudden flourish. Madigan is the General, but he has a legion of followers that would poke each others eyes out to take his place.

Lets face it he and his tribe of trial lawyers have decimated this State running so many businesses out of the area that our citizenry needed. I posted this in another post about all the good jobs we had in this area provided by the many manufacturers we had here. They were blue collar jobs but offered a salary where a family could own a nice home, send their children to good schools and have funds for a nice meal out once a week and a new car now and then.
Now in the aftermath we have some warehouse jobs that pay not much more than minimum wage, an entrenched group of politicians and hired hacks milking what's left of the economy ad taxpayers fleeing the situation in droves.
How sad what they did to this area including the current bunch in now that's busy mopping up the few crumbs that are left.

and I have to admit in the old days before the Internet the populace was kept deep in the dark about so many things.
Today in the digital age things are different and, agreeing with you on this, many have been made dependent on Government handouts to where they only know where their food comes from. Skilled well educated individuals know how to structure things particularly when these individuals have become dependent on those exact handouts.
Years ago people immigrated to places like Granite City to work to better their lives...and now has been turned into a welfare mecca state including immigrants who immigrate to get on the gravy train.
How sad...
