It's all good and sounds so simple and 'black and white' so to speak.

Problem, the easier it is for the 'good guys' to get the guns, the easier it is for the 'hoodrats' to get the guns. Illinois is long, painfully long, but also narrow.

It's surrounded by red (neck) states that make it easier to get a gun than the right to vote. I 55 goes into Misery, I 24 into Kentucky - via 57 gets you to Chicago or St. Louis. I 65 in Indiana connect Chicago with Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama...with a little help from Interstates 80, 90, 94.

If more guns made us all safer, we should already be the safest nation on earth.

Besides, if I really did run...why would I want to be weighed down by a gun? It's not the most comfortable thing to run with.

I am afraid increasing crime in Granite City won't go away any time soon.

It's too isolated from its wealthy neighbors and very connected to its not so wealthy neighbors. I mean by it's history, it's very tied to St. Louis. St. Louis' Prosperity created Granite City, and its decline mirrors Granite City's decline.

Prosperity is not going to magically find its way to Granite City.

We could go the Opinionated way and piss off the coroner so much that he has to open a field office in Granite City.... or we can learn from actual crime infested cities, what they did to turn themselves around.

Obviously St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the nation, and they are located adjacent to Granite City. People can walk to Granite City, if they wanted to from the nation's most dangerous city.

Maybe New York City.....the Big Apple gives us some insight on how to turn a city around. How a Crime Ridden City turned itself around

More guns is just going to piss off the coroner and not because 'hood rats' were stopped in their tracks. It will happen because more murder weapons are available - as well as increased suicides and teens getting into mom and dad's gun cabinet.

    More guns...more opportunities.

We could also talk about why other countries on Earth are so much safer...but that's for another day. Hint -- It's not because they have more guns.

Matter of fact, no nation on earth has more guns - in total or per capita than we do. Why aren't we the safest nation on earth?
